My name is David Miller. I live in American Fork, Utah with my wife and 6 of our 8 children. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a returned missionary, proud to be an American (even when the country needs a course correction), and an Eagle Scout. I love studying issues and solving problems personally, professionally, and politically. I have degrees in computer science and instructional technology.
My wife has asked me why I blog. I think the best answer is that I love to get my perspective on social and political issues out where others can read and respond. I love getting comments because it helps refine my thinking. I have learned some very interesting things from people who have commented on my posts and I have been known to change my position on some issues as I became more familiar with them.
When I affiliate with a party I do so with the intent to help shape the party and not because I have chosen to let the party leadership do my thinking for me.
When I am not pontificating or spending time with my family I enjoy gardening, dutch-oven cooking, camping, running, vexillology (flag design) and once upon a time I was a pretty good racquetball player. In 2007 I completed a long held goal of running a marathon and yes, I am open to the possibility of running another marathon (although I have not committed to do so).
